ALE Installs Thepharak Wind Generators

Heavy-lift specialist ALE has transported and installed more than 700 breakbulk power components for the Thepharak wind farm project in Thailand.

The complex delivery involved craneage of 60 wind turbine generators with components weighing up to 120 tonnes each and a hub height of 157 meters. ALE utilized two new K1650L tower cranes as well as crawler and mobile cranes for the installation.

“We are using the most time and cost-effective method to install WTGs at this hub height. By using these compact pedestal cranes, the civil works and costs have been significantly reduced for our client,” said Tommy Quik, project manager for ALE.

With more than 30 global offices, ALE provides a range of breakbulk transport and installation services worldwide for the energy, civil and petrochemical sectors.
