ALE Transports Turret Mooring System

Project cargo and heavy-lift firm ALE has transported a turret mooring system from a fabrication workshop to a project site in Johor, Malaysia

The giant turret structure weighed 1,265 tonnes and was accompanied by an SAS gantry, weighing 330 tonnes. ALE utilized self-propelled modular transporters to move the assembled components before being loaded-out onto a barge.

“We were able to complete the mating of the turret head and the turret support structure with a tolerance of just 6 millimeters. Close accuracy has been vital throughout the whole operation, and it’s a testament to the skill of our personnel that these maneuvers have been carried out so well,” said Ariff Mustaffa, ALE project engineer.

ALE provides heavy-lift services for the energy, construction and maritime sectors from  global headquarters in Staffordshire in the UK. The firm also operates more than 30 regional offices around the world.
